Earthen Plasters Workshop August 22, 2026

Have you ever wanted to learn to make beautiful, healthy wall finishes from the ground up? Join us on August 22 from 11AM- 5PM Saturday August 22, 2026 for a day focused on earthen plasters from the ground up.

On this day, we will focus on taking local subsoil and mixing it into an earthen plaster (alongside sand and straw). You will learn how to process the local material, as well as mix ratios & consistency. We will then apply it to the walls of Wren’s straw bale home. We will be focusing on building out the base coat. Folks can apply with their hands and/or try using trowels.

We will likely get muddy and, depending on weather, hot! So please bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, snacks/lunch, and water. We will be indoors and/or on a shaded north wall.
